'PowHER' Program

New Program Alert!!

The Russell Soccer Club is committed to providing female focussed development for our players. 

After a successful pilot project this spring (2026), we are excited to introduce this NEW program for our female athletes this upcoming winter called “PowHER”.

“PowHER” is a developmental program that will be offered to players between the ages of U10 to U16 and be open to all skills levels. This program is aimed to empower girls to find strength through soccer, while being coached by women - a place where girls are able to uplift each other. 

Statistics indicate a significant gender disparity in sport participation, with approximately one in three girls discontinuing their involvement by late adolescence, compared with only one in ten boys. Several factors may contribute to this statistic, including low self-confidence, negative body image, and perceived skill deficits. 

This program is set on changing these statistics, while starting the positive changes at a much younger age group.

Our program coaches are women who are passionate about the sport and want to provide that same passion to the young girls in their community!

Winter PowHER Program Information (2027)

Location: ALL sessions will be held at the Twp of Russell Sports Dome

Season Length: Tuesday January 5th - Tuesday March 9th (9 week program)

*NO session on Tues Feb 16

Late Registration Fee of $50 for all youth programs: after November 20th, 2026 

*Late Registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE 

Registration CLOSES: December 20th, 2026

POLITIQUE DE REMBOURSEMENT

Indoor Programs: A full refund (minus credit card processing fees and program development fees) will be provided up to January 1st if written notice is received by the Club Registrar (rsclub@russellsoccer.com).

Thereafter, a minimum administration fee of $45.00 as set by the Board of Directors will be charged to cover the cost of equipment, uniforms and administration.

After the first day of programming, no refund will be given except under exceptional circumstances, as determined by the Board of Directors.
