Spring/Summer - Youth Recreational

RSC 2026 Youth Recreational (House League) divisions and formats:

ChALLengers Program 

The Challengers program is designed for youth & adults with special needs. 

Our dedicated program coordinator and volunteer coaches strive to ensure that all participants have a positive experience playing soccer while having fun and staying active. Weekly sessions consist of a warm up/game followed by engaging drills and intra squad scrimmages.

Important Information:

All players will receive a sponsored RSC uniform and is theirs to keep (jersey, shorts and socks).

Players are encouraged wear cleats and shin pads. 

Location: All spring/summer sessions will be at the RHS field.

Youth U3-U6

This is an 'introduction to soccer' program designed for younger players. Participants will learn basic skills through fun exercises and interactive games.

  • U3 (co-ed)- parent/guardian & child informal play format; Active Start standards apply.  Teams practice for 45 mins; once/week.
  • U4 (co-ed)- parent/guardian & child informal play format; Active Start standards apply. Teams practice for 45 mins; once/week.
  • U5 (co-ed)- parent/guardian & child informal play format; Active Start standards apply. Teams practice for 45 mins; once/week.
  • U6- 3v3 (no goalkeeper) game format; Active Start standards apply. Teams practice/play for 55 mins once/week. Games are refereed by coaches/game leaders.

Important Information:

All players will receive a sponsored RSC uniform (jersey, shorts & socks) and a size 3 ball; theirs to keep.

Registered players must have a parent/guardian who will actively participate in all sessions.

Location: All spring/summer sessions for the U3, U4, U5 & U6 divisions will be held at the Twp. of Russell Sports Dome.

Youth U7-U19

  • U7- 3v3 (no goalkeeper) game format; Active Start soccer rules apply. Teams practice/play for 55 mins twice/week. Games are refereed by coaches/game leaders.
  • U8- 4v4 (no goalkeeper) or 5v5 game format; Fundamentals soccer rules apply. Teams practice/play for 60 mins twice/week.  Referees are assigned to games when possible.
  • U9- 4v4 (no goalkeeper) or 5v5 game format; Fundamentals soccer rules apply. Teams practice/play for 60 mins twice/week.  Referees are assigned to games when possible.
  • U10/U12- 7v7 game format; Learn to Train soccer rules apply. Teams practice/play for 60 mins twice/week.  Referees are assigned to games.
  • U12/U13- 9v9 game format; Learn to Train soccer rules apply. Teams practice/play for 60 mins twice/week.  Referees are assigned to games.
  • U14/U15- 9v9 or 11v11 game format (may vary depending on registration numbers) under FIFA rules. Teams practice/play for 60 mins twice/week. Referees are assigned to games. 
  • U16-U19- 9v9 or 11v11 game format (may vary depending on registration numbers) under FIFA rules. Teams practice/play for 60 mins twice/week. Referees are assigned to games.

REFUND POLICY

Recreational Programs- A full refund (minus credit card processing fees) will be provided up to May 1st if written notice is received by the Operations Manager. Thereafter, a minimum administration fee of $45.00 as set by the Board of Directors will be charged to cover the cost of equipment, uniform and administration. After the first day of the season, no refund will be given except under exceptional circumstances, as determined by the Directors.
