Spring/Summer - Youth Representative

Our youth representative teams compete in the Eastern Ontario Soccer League which is the District League for Development and Competitive teams aged 8-17.

 *The number of Raiders teams entered to play in the summer league will depend on the number of registered players and the availability of qualified coaching staff.

Representative (Raiders) Important Information & Overview:

  • Playing at this level requires a higher level of commitment and players are expected to attend all games and practices unless due notice has been given to the coaching staff. Committing to the training and game schedule is important to maximize the athlete's development.  
  • The assessments for all representative teams are held in February. These sessions are used to determine both the team rosters as well as the League division/tier each team will be entered to. All registered players will be expected to attend these sessions in order to be considered for the Raiders team in their age group.
  • Designated game nights/schedule are determined by the EOSL.
  • There are separate teams and divisions for boys and girls, subject to registration numbers, at each age group.
  • The season typically runs from mid May to late August/early September and consists of 12 to 15 games. 
  • Teams will play one game (set by the EOSL) and have two practices per week (set by the coaching staff). 
  • Teams will have the opportunity to compete in League sanctioned festivals/tournaments throughout the season. The coaching staff/parents will decide the tournament schedule and any additional team fees required for their team.

U9: 5v5 game format; Fundamentals rules apply; referees are assigned to all games.

U10/U11: 7v7 game format; Learn to Train rules apply; referees are assigned to all games.

U12/U13: 9v9 game format; Learn to Train rules apply; referees are assigned to all games.

U14-U18: 11v11 game format; Soccer 4 Life rules apply; referees are assigned to all games.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT FEE: In order to accommodate the continued growth of our membership, maintenance of our existing facilities and plans for future expansion, the Club introduced a Development Fee for all registrants in 2023.  The fees will be charged once to each account during the registration process (Winter Programs $25; Spring/Summer Programs $50).

TEAM FEES: In addition to registration fees, players may also be required to pay team fees as determined by the Coach/Manager. The team fees are used cover specific team expenses; Festivals/tournaments, team bench/tent, team building activities, etc.

UNIFORM: Competitive players are responsible for purchasing a Russell Raiders uniform (details will be shared with players once the teams have been formed).

REFUND POLICY: Representative Programs A full refund (minus credit card processing fees) will be provided up to March 1st if there were no evaluations for the team or within 5 days after final evaluations being completed for that age group. Written notice must be received by the Operations Manager or Club Head Coach before these dates. Thereafter, a minimum administration fee of $75.00 as set by the Board of Directors will be charged to cover the administration costs. After the first day of scheduled League play, no refund will be given except under exceptional circumstances, as determined by the Director of Indoor & Representative Programming.

Players who register for a Representative team but are not selected in the assessment process will be encouraged to continue their development in our Recreational program. A refund based on the cost difference between both programs will be issued if the player chooses to join the Recreational program within the time frame noted above. If the player decides to withdraw from the RSC soccer program, the Club will provide a full refund (minus credit card processing fees)

 

Representative players must adhere to the Club and League codes of conduct and will receive monetary fines, suspensions or loss of membership for violations.
